Private Lessons

A typical lesson includes instruction and demonstration of training techniques, coaching while you practice with your dog, homework to practice each day between lessons, and time to answer any questions you have. 

There is not a one size fits all curriculum, instead, lessons are targeted to your goals. Common topics include:

• puppy raising
• basic obedience ie sit, down, stay, stand, come, place (bed stay), drop it, leave it
• listening around distractions
• polite greetings (no jumping)
• good leash manners (no pulling or lunging)
• cooperating for brushing and nail trims
• house training and crate training
• building fetch and tug, so your dog wants to bring the toy back and play with you
• reducing over-excitement
• advanced obedience, ie. heel, front, finish, hold, retrieves, sit and down at a distance

Lessons are held in your home, which allows us to address your dog's behavior in their familiar environment. After teaching the basics, we can also meet at a pet friendly public place to work around more distractions.

Once a week is recommended. Each lesson last about one hour. 

Yes. Scheduling is flexible with daytime, evening, and weekend lessons are available.
