Private Lessons

Each lesson includes instruction, demonstration of training techniques, coaching while you practice with your dog, and homework to practice each day between lessons. 

There is not a one size fits all curriculum, instead, lessons are targeted to your goals. Common topics include:

• puppy raising
• basic obedience ie sit, down, stay, stand, come, place (bed stay), drop it, leave it
• listening around distractions
• polite greetings (no jumping)
• good leash manners (no pulling or lunging)
• behaving for brushing and nail trims
• house training and crate training
• building cooperative toy play, so your dog wants to bring the toy back and give it to you
• managing over-excitement
• advanced obedience, ie. heel, finish, retrieves, sit and down at a distance, sending to a specific spot at a distance

Lessons are held in your home, which allows us to address your dog's behavior in their familiar environment. After teaching the basics, we can also meet at a pet friendly public place to work around more distractions.

Once a week is recommended. Each lesson last about one hour. 

Yes! Scheduling is flexible. Daytime, evening, and weekend lessons are available. 

For best results, expect to practice with your dog each day between lessons using the techniques and exercises you learn. Additionally, adjustments in your daily routine with your dog may be recommended to support your dog's learning and set them up for success during the training process.

Lesson packages come with trainer support in between your lessons, so you are always able to reach out with questions or send a quick video to make sure you're on the right track. 

The number of lessons needed will depend on you, your dog, your goals, and your consistency with practice between lessons. After our first session, we can give you a better idea of what to expect based on your dog’s progress and your training goals.
