Private Lessons

Lessons are available as individual, pay-by-the-hour sessions or as a monthly program with weekly lessons and trainer support in between to accelerate your progress. 

Each lesson includes instruction, coaching while you practice with your dog, time to answer your questions, and homework to practice each day between lessons. There is not a one size fits all curriculum, instead, a personalized training plan is created to match your goals and your dog’s needs. Common topics include:

• puppy raising
• obedience training, eg sit, down, stay, stand, place (bed stay), drop it, leave it
• reliably coming when called
• listening around distractions
• house manners, eg. no jumping, counter surfing, chewing, stealing, digging, getting in the trash
• leash manners (no pulling or lunging)
• cooperating for brushing and nail trims
• house training and crate training
• problem solving
• teaching your dog to play fetch or tug
• teaching overly excitable dogs to relax and settle
• building confidence in nervous or shy dogs
• advanced obedience, ie. heel, front, finish, hold, retrieves, sit and down at a distance
