Board and train is the most efficient way to jumpstart your dog’s training, perfect for households who struggle to find time to train, feel overwhelmed by their dog's behavior, or want a professional to set a solid training foundation. Board and train dogs stay at the trainer's home and learn throughout the day in multiple targeted training sessions.
Your dog will return to you with a new set of skills and a plan for continued training and management at home. All board and train programs include progress updates and lessons after your dog's training stay. We are committed to coaching you as well as training your dog to ensure your success as a team!

Many common behavior problems can be addressed during our standard board and train programs. Custom programs are available for more complex behavior modification on a case-by-case basis. These typically run 4-6 weeks in length and start at $4500. Please Contact Us to discuss.
Your dog will stay at the trainer’s house as part of the family. Accepting very small numbers of board and train dogs at a time (max of three) means each dog gets the personal attention they deserve.

We use a modern, blended approach to training and adapt to your dog’s breed, age, and individual temperament. Training starts by building motivation and clear communication through marker training, then new skills are taught by breaking them down into little steps to set your dog up for success. Finally we increase the difficulty by practicing around distractions, in different environments, and in real life situations to strengthen reliability.
The first step is a consultation in your home. This includes an evaluation of your dog’s behavior and temperament, discussing your goals for training, and training and management strategies you can start to implement right away. Starting with a consultation also gives us a chance to meet in person and ensure we are a good fit before you commit to a training program. Contact Us to get started.
Your dog must be current on rabies, DAPP, and bordetella vaccines. Young puppies must be up to date with all age appropriate vaccines but do not need to have finished their entire round of puppy vaccines.
A 25% deposit is due when booking to reserve your dog's training stay. Payment is accepted by check, cash, Zelle, and credit card. The balance is due at drop off.

Yes. Our most popular programs are listed above, but we are always happy to design a custom program for your dog based on your training goals or the timeframe you have in mind.
For almost every dog, we find board and train is the fastest and most effective way to make training progress. There are occasional cases where private training in your home is a better option, depending on a variety of factors (your dog’s personality, their prior training, their behavior, relationship dynamics, etc.) During your consultation, our trainer will discuss the best options for you, your dog, and your goals.
We finally found a gem of a dog trainer in Ariel, the owner of Charm School for Dogs. Through Ariel's 4 week Board-and-Train program, our dog, Toby, grew from a lost, anxious street dog to a gentleman. She taught Toby the perfect toolbox of useful hand signals and verbal commands, tailored to his needs. (He has vision and hearing impairment.) He also became socialized and learned behaviors like not jumping on people or mouthing them.
