Board and train is the most efficient and effective way to jumpstart your dog’s training, perfect for households who struggle to find time to train, who feel overwhelmed by their dog's behavior, or who want a professional to set a solid training foundation. Board and train dogs stay in our home and learn throughout the day in multiple targeted training sessions.
Your dog will return to you with a new set of skills and a training plan for continued training and management at home. All board and train programs include regular progress updates during your dog's stay and lessons after your dog's training stay. We are committed to coaching you as well as training your dog to ensure your success as a team!
In addition to the board and train programs listed below, we can design a custom board and train program to match your goals or desired timeframe.
This program will teach your dog the skills they need to be a happy, balanced, well-behaved companion and also teach you you how to communicate effectively with your dog in order to reinforce their training. Charm School is for dogs 6 months or older.

Your dog will stay in our house, not a crowded kennel environment, and practice how to behave during normal daily life: when the doorbell rings, when unloading the dishwasher, etc.
Taking small numbers of board and train dogs at a time means we can give each dog the personal attention they deserve.
We use a blended approach to training and adapt to your dog’s breed, age, and individual temperament. We teach new skills by breaking them down into little steps to set the dog up for success. Once the dog masters these, we gradually increase the challenge by practicing around distractions, in different environments, and in various real life scenarios to strengthen their reliability.
Contact Us to book your dog's initial lesson. The lesson is about an hour long and includes evaluation of your dog's temperament and behavior as well as foundational training exercises you can start right away. Starting with an initial lesson also gives us a chance to meet in person and ensure we are a good fit before you commit to a training program.
Yes! We do a midway lesson during your dog training stay if you are in town. This gives you a chance to visit with your dog and practice handling them using the new skills they have learned. Additionally, photo and videos updates will keep you in the loop throughout your dog's stay.
Yes! While our 21 Day and 30 Day programs are most popular, we are always happy to design a custom length program for your dog based on your training goals or your specific timeframe.
Payment is accepted by check, cash, Zelle, and credit card. A 25% deposit is due when booking to reserve your dog's training stay. The balance is due at drop off.
For almost all dogs, board and train is the most efficient and effective format to jumpstart training. There are a small percentage of cases where private training in your home makes more sense. This depends on your dog's personality, the behavior they are exhibiting, their prior training, your relationship with your dog, etc. Our trainer will recommend the option they feel is best for your dog and your goals.
We finally found a gem of a dog trainer in Ariel, the owner of Charm School for Dogs. Through Ariel's 4 week Board-and-Train program, our dog, Toby, grew from a lost, anxious street dog to a gentleman. She taught Toby the perfect toolbox of useful hand signals and verbal commands, tailored to his needs. (He has vision and hearing impairment.) He also became socialized and learned behaviors like not jumping on people or mouthing them.
