Board and train

This program will teach your dog the skills they need to be a happy, balanced, well-behaved companion and also teach you you how to communicate effectively with your dog in order to reinforce their training. Charm School is for dogs 6 months or older.

Areas of Training Focus:

• Come When Called: your dog will come when you call even when distracted 
• Sit, Down, and Stay: easily control your dog while you get the mail, talk to a neighbor, etc. 
• Place: stay on an indicated dog bed until released, keep your dog out of the way when needed in the house
• Leash Manners: walk politely on a leash without pulling and pass people and other dogs under control
• Door Manners: wait at the door until you release your dog, no bolting
• Daily Life: good manners reinforced throughout the day during normal daily life in addition to targeted training sessions
• Settling in the House: your dog will learn when it's time to settle and be calm in the house and when to channel their energy into appropriate outlets
• Field Trips: outings to dog-friendly public places to practice training in different environments and around distractions
• Clear Communication: a system of communication is key for clarity and a good relationship between you and your dog
• Other Goals: any additional goals or concerns we discuss can also be addressed, eg. greeting people without jumping, not counter surfing, staying off furniture, house training, etc.

• 3 Weeks of Immersive Training: Your dog will stay with us and benefit from consistent daily training while regular progress updates will keep you in the loop. 
• 4 Private Lessons: Includes one pre-lesson before your dog's stay, a lesson midway through your dog's stay (if you are in town), a lesson when your dog goes home, and an additional follow up in your home to ensure a smooth transition. 
• Additional Support: Written training material for your reference and unlimited support from your trainer during and after training for the lifetime of your dog.

Enjoy more freedom with your dog with more reliability! Adventure School includes everything covered in the Charm School program, plus preparation for off leash adventures. 

Areas of Training Focus: (in addition to everything in Charm School)

• Off Leash Obedience: your dog will come when called, sit, down, stay, and walk at your side off leash
• More Reliability: additional practice in a variety of environments to improve reliability

Program Includes:

• 30 Days of Immersive Training: Your dog will stay with us and benefit from consistent daily training while regular progress updates will keep you in the loop. 
• 4 Private Lessons: Includes one pre-lesson before your dog's stay, a lesson midway through your dog's stay (if you are in town), a lesson when your dog goes home, and an additional follow up in your home to ensure a smooth transition. 
• Additional Support: Written training material for your reference and unlimited support from your trainer during and after training for the lifetime of your dog.

Program Cost: $4500

Many common behavior problems can be addressed during our Charm School or Adventure School programs. Custom board and train programs are available for more complex behavior modification on a case-by-case basis. Program cost starts at $4250. Contact Us to book your dog's initial lesson. The lesson is about an hour long and includes evaluation of your dog's temperament and behavior as well as foundational training exercises you can start right away. Starting with an initial lesson also gives us a chance to meet in person and ensure we are a good fit before you commit to a training program. 

Yes! We do a midway lesson during your dog training stay if you are in town. This gives you a chance to visit with your dog and practice handling them using the new skills they have learned. Additionally, photo and videos updates will keep you in the loop throughout your dog's stay. 

Yes! While our 21 Day and 30 Day programs are most popular, we are always happy to design a custom length program for your dog based on your training goals or your specific timeframe. 

Payment is accepted by check, cash, Zelle, and credit card. A 25% deposit is due when booking to reserve your dog's training stay. The balance is due at drop off. 

For almost all dogs, board and train is the most efficient and effective format to jumpstart training. There are a small percentage of cases where private training in your home makes more sense. This depends on your dog's personality, the behavior they are exhibiting, their prior training, your relationship with your dog, etc. Our trainer will recommend the option they feel is best for your dog and your goals.
